ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Abilene Christian University (ACU) has officially been designated a Carnegie R2 – High Research Activity institution, placing it among the top 10% of research universities in the nation, according to the university.
ACU is one of only two R2 universities within the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities. To achieve R2 status, institutions must produce more than 20 doctoral graduates in research fields each year and spend more than $5 million on research.
ACU reports an average of more than $8 million in annual research spending and roughly 68 doctoral graduates per year.
"ACU’s R2 status represents a significant step in our long-term strategic vision. It enhances our national visibility, expands faculty research opportunities and strengthens the stu
