GADSDEN, Ala. ( WBRC ) - City leaders in Gadsden want to hear from you when it comes to how to keep your streets safe.

The city is getting money from the Safe Streets and Roads program to help fix what could be problem areas in and around the city.

Gadsden City Engineer Heath Williamson said he takes pride in redesigning the roadways in the city to make them safer, but he also knows he can’t do it alone.

“Whether it’s pedestrians or two pedestrians or vehicles and what those causes would be at each location and then fix them one by one," said Williamson.

The city will be receiving the funds from the highway administration in September. Williamson says that money will allow them to identify and fix problem areas that can be dangerous, even deadly.
