VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A Vestavia Hills man says what started as a terrifying road rage encounter has now become a weeks-long fight for accountability.

Nearly two weeks after he says a woman pointed a gun at him in traffic, he’s still waiting for answers — and action — from police.

Tommy Gardner says the incident happened on Highway 31 near Park South Shopping Center. He describes the moment as sudden and frightening.

“It looked like a 40 cal,” Gardner said.

According to Gardner, the gun was pointed directly at him during what he believes was a road rage incident.

“Like pointed right at me,” he said.
