MONTPELIER, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) - According to Vermont agriculture officials, dairy farmers across the Northeastern United States, including all of our area, can now get up to $100,000 to help "improve their operations for long-term success."
The Dairy Farm Improvement & Modernization Grant is aimed towards projects that take a "systems-level approach," meaning that farmers work alongside technical experts to help their operations produce higher-quality products more efficiently.
Examples of projects that can apply for grants are ones that focus on new farmer engagement, feed management, animal health and comfort, and milking systems. Each grant requires a 25% in-kind or cash match.
