TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Communities around the nation are remembering Charlie Kirk on what would have been his 32nd birthday.

The conservative activist was shot and killed at a campus event in Utah about a month ago.

Wakulla County Schools held a day of civil discourse on Tuesday, and Florida lawmakers filed a bill to make Oct. 14 Charlie Kirk Day every year.

In the capital city, a vigil in honor of Kirk drew a crowd of people, many dressed in red, in the Capitol courtyard.

The event began at 6 p.m. and is scheduled to end at 9 p.m.

This article will be updated later this evening with more details.
