TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV/Gray Florida Capital Bureau) - Communities around the nation are remembering Charlie Kirk on what would have been his 32nd birthday.

The conservative activist was shot and killed at a campus event in Utah about a month ago.

Wakulla County Schools held a day of civil discourse on Tuesday, and Florida lawmakers filed a bill to make Oct. 14 Charlie Kirk Day every year.

In the capital city, a vigil in honor of Kirk drew a crowd of people in the Capitol courtyard.

Praise and worship music echoed in the courtyard as attendees wore red, Kirk’s favorite color, to honor the Turning Point USA founder.
