OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - You never know when you might stumble on a piece of history in your own neighborhood.
One Omaha woman did at a local estate sale, finding a dress created by the woman who designed Jackie Kennedy’s wedding dress over 60 years ago.
The dress is now being displayed at the Durham Museum’s latest exhibit, to share Aksarben’s history.
“I think it brings an incredible amount of pride to know that something of this caliber was happening in their city,” said the museum’s Director of Marketing and PR, Scott Eastman.
That pride surrounds their new ‘Woven with History’ exhibit.
It showcases gowns worn to the Aksarben ball, spanning back the last 130 years, right here in Omaha.
