SCHENECTADY, NY (NEWS10) -- After opening the year with a tie against Army West Point, the Union Men's Hockey team found their rhythm this past weekend, going on the road and sweeping a two-game set against Mercyhurst.

The Garnet Chargers lit up the scoreboard this past weekend, finding the back of the net 10 times across the two contests. Winning on Friday night 5-2, before rallying from a 3-goal deficit to win on Saturday 5-3.

This was quite the change in offensive production for Union after their opener in which they scored just one goal despite putting 39 shots on target against Army.

A high scoring output is something the team knows they are capable of on a regular basis, something the Garnet Chargers will look to do once again this upcoming weekend when they host Niagara for a pai
