Alex Bregman reportedly will hit MLB free agency for a second consecutive offseason.

The veteran infielder, who signed a three-year contract with the Boston Red Sox last offseason, will be opting out after the first year of his deal, according to The New York Post's Jon Heyman. Bregman's contract included opt outs after each of the first two years

It doesn't come as a major surprise that the 31-year-old would opt out and pursue a deal with more term. He had two years and $80 million remaining.

Bregman leaving Boston is not a definite, however.
