SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - The Iowa DOT is awarding three rail projects in Northwest Iowa nearly two million dollars in loan funds.
The Iowa Transportation Commission approving those loans Tuesday, October 14, through its Railroad Revolving Loan and Grant program.
Two projects in Sioux City will share just over a million dollars in loan funding: those are the Floyd Valley Transload facilities on Lewis Boulevard and Rustin Street.
Another project to expand a transload facility in Le Mars is getting a $792,000 loan.
According to the state , those loans are zero percent interest and cover a 10-year term. They also require a 20 percent matching contribution from the requestor.
