ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - As autonomous rideshares become a more common sight on the streets of Atlanta, it might not be long before a similar revolution takes to the skies, thanks in part to groundbreaking work at Georgia Tech.

Georgia Tech and NASA partner on ‘RAVEN’ project

At Georgia Tech’s newly constructed Aircraft Prototyping Laboratory on its West Campus, professor and aerospace engineer Brian German leads a project called “RAVEN,” in partnership with NASA.

The project will help design prototypes for the next generation of air transportation, focusing on electrifying and autonomizing aviation.

“There’s a lot of technical challenges in terms of the noise signature of the aircraft and in terms of the battery capabilities,” German said.
