THIBODAUX, La. —

A Lafourche Parish Sheriff's correctional officer has been arrested for allegedly supplying synthetic marijuana to an inmate.

According to deputies, Natacia Brown, 20, of Thibodaux, is being charged with taking contraband to a penal institution, attempted taking contraband to a penal institution, and malfeasance in office. Advertisement

Brown had allegedly taken part in a transaction that was coordinated outside of the facility, brought the contraband into the complex, and provided it to the inmate.

Deputies questioned Brown about the incident, and she admitted her involvement.

Deputies learned of another incident involving Brown, where she was involved in trying to bring other drugs into the facility.

Her bail is set at $150,000.
