A fatal crash that occurred on U.S. 63 shut the roadway down for several hours Tuesday afternoon. The highway is now open.

The two vehicle crash involved a tractor trailer and an SUV. The driver of the SUV, a 68 year old male from Holts Summit, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol post on X .

The driver of the tractor trailer an 82 year old male from Steedman, is unharmed.

The crash happened near the sod farms. The Highway Patrol said the roadway was partially blocked and traffic was backing up.

The roadway is now clear.
