A Scots car wash boss whose firm employed illegal worker s has been banned from running companies after failing to pay a fine. ‌

Ali Ahmadi, the former boss of Superhand Car Wash Express, was banned from acting as a director for five years after failing to pay a £90,000 penalty following a Home Office probe into the business in Wishaw , North Lanarkshire. ‌

The 52-year-old’s ban comes just weeks after data revealed that Scots firms were fined more than £1m after being raided by the UK’s Immigration, Compliance and Enforcement (ICE) team. ‌

Eighteen premises in Scotland were fined after illegal workers were discovered, with raids conducted in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Fife, among other towns and cities.
