The onslaught of angst over property tax reform is gathering momentum in northwest Ohio. Blade reporter Alice Momany detailed a gathering of school superintendents from Lucas, Wood, Williams, Henry, and Ottawa counties, convened to convey their concerns over school funding.

There is ample grounds for all Ohioans to be upset over the status quo on school funding and property tax collections. We start with the observation that Ohio government is unable to stay the course on any education plan.

Lawmakers were unwilling to continue the Fair School Funding Plan they passed with great fanfare in 2020. Reducing the FSFP allotment by $2.86 billion provided a billion dollars for scholarships to private schools. It also pushed public schools to ask local voters to replace the state money to avoid
