TOLEDO, Ohio — Stellantis has announced a major investment in Toledo’s auto industry , confirming plans to build an all-new midsize truck at the Toledo Assembly Complex.

The automaker says the expansion will bring $400 million in investment and 900 new jobs to Toledo. The new vehicle will be added alongside the Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator models currently built at the plant.

“It’s a big deal because what Stellantis is doing is they’re adding 50% more U.S. production,” said Jeff Gilbert, an auto industry reporter for WWJ Radio.

The announcement is part of Stellantis’ broader strategy to strengthen U.S. manufacturing while expanding its truck lineup.

Gilbert says Stellantis is shifting gears, moving toward trucks and away from fully electric vehicles.
