India Post has resumed all categories of international postal services to the United States, following a temporary suspension that began in late August due to changes in US customs regulations.
The disruption stemmed from an executive order issued by the US Administration on July 30, which withdrew the duty-free exemption for imports valued up to USD 800. Under the new rules, effective August 29, all postal shipments to the US, regardless of their value, are subject to customs duties under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) tariff framework. Only gift items up to USD 100 remain exempt from duties.
