The Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed the use of green firecrackers in Delhi-NCR. Chief Justice B.R. Gavai said, "We must adopt a balanced approach, but we will not compromise on the environment. We are allowing the use of green firecrackers with certain conditions."

According to the Supreme Court order, fireworks will only be permitted in Delhi-NCR from October 18 to 21. The court stated that green firecrackers will be permitted on Diwali, October 20, from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. and from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

5 points of SC order regarding burning of green crackers in Delhi-NCR

1. Patrol teams will regularly check every green firecracker manufacturer. The QR codes on green firecracker containers will be uploaded to the website.

2. No firecrackers will be allowed to be brought from outside area
