Barely into her twenties, the young woman clutched a piece of paper and stood before Justice John Champion on Wednesday morning.

But instead of addressing the judge, she spun around, directing her gaze to the man at the back of the courtroom.

The man hunched forward and began fidgeting, looking up at her from the court dock.

"So, how do I start?" she said.

" You murdered my mother. Everyone knows you murdered her. "
