Paʻia Elementary School on Maui will reopen to students and staff on Wednesday following its closure for fire cleanup and environmental testing, the state Department of Education said today.

A Sept. 23 brush fire, which was later determined to have been intentionally set, prompted a three-week closure of the school for in-person instruction and a switch to distance learning.

Normal school schedules will resume Wednesday with in-person learning.
