Scotland’s stillwater bank international side are in action in Ireland hoping to win gold, but captain Scott Pozzi said it will be tough.

The squad has had more than three days to work on tactics for the water and the practice has gone well.

However, Glenrothes-based Pozzi, who was crowned the Scottish stillwater bank champion for the first time this year, winning on countback, said it had become more and more challenging.

Pozzi, who was Scottish National Champion in 2001, has fished in Ireland before with the Scotland Fife Nations team.

Peter Cowie, who helped win gold for Scotland when the Home International was held at New Haylie near Largs, is also in the squad.

Meanwhile, the third round of the Bass Rock Winter League is tonight (Wednesday) in the North Berwick Harbour area.
