MILFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - Raul Valle was set to return to court Wednesday morning to face charges a jury couldn’t decide on during his previous trial this summer .
After being acquitted of murder charges in July, Valle now faces the lesser charges that resulted in a hung jury.
The state filed amended charges last month, setting the stage for this second trial.
Valle is charged with first-degree reckless manslaughter for the death of 17-year-old Jimmy McGrath , two counts of first-degree reckless assault for injuring Ryan Heinz and Thomas Connery, and second-degree reckless assault for injuring Faison Teele.
Jimmy McGrath’s family, who sat through the weeks-long trial over the summer, said they will be present for this second trial despite how grueling the first one was.
