Aldi shoppers have been warned not to eat a specific tub of ice cream. An undeclared ingredient means it poses a possible health risk to those with allergies. ‌

The UK's fourth largest supermarket has had to issue an urgent recall for its Gianni’s Cheeky Monkey Ice Cream as it contains gluten, which has not been mentioned on the label. ‌

This means that the food product isn't suitable for consumption for those who suffer from either coeliac disease, or for those with an allergy or an intolerance to the ingredient. ‌

In an allergy alert posted to the Food Standards Agency (FSA) on October 11, shoppers have been advised that the recall affects a 500ml tub and a best before date of August 14, 2027.
