The league is a statewide nonprofit organization for cities, towns and county governments.
Danville Outdoors — a citywide initiative — earned the league’s President’s Award for Innovation. That accolade is the league’s highest honor, “recognizing creative solutions in local government,” the city of Danville reported in a news release.
The community-based initiative was created to bring together the different aspects of outdoor recreation and conservation.
