A police investigation has been launched after a woman found an intruder asleep on her toilet inside her Paisley home.

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, woke up early on Tuesday (October 14) morning to find the man fast asleep on the loo, with her bank cards and tv remote scattered around him on the floor.

She contacted police the same morning, who have since sent forensics out to the scene, and a probe has been launched.

According to the woman, the man left behind his hat.

She told Glasgow Live: "I woke up at 5.30am and found a man fast asleep in my toilet, surrounded with my bank cards on the floor with my TV remote.

"Police are checking CCTV, and forensics have his hat, as he left it behind."

Police Scotland confirmed they are looking into the incident.
