MINNEAPOLIS — Two drivers are being treated at the hospital after their vehicles collided with a moving train in northeast Minneapolis on early Wednesday morning.

The crash occurred just after 2:30 a.m. at Columbia Parkway and Central Avenue Northeast. A woman told KARE 11 that she was a passenger in a grey Cadillac Escalade that was stopped behind the crossing arm when a white Toyota Rav4 rear-ended them near the tracks, pushing both vehicles into the path of the moving train.

Minneapolis police confirmed the passenger's account later Wednesday morning, saying a 32-year-old man driving the white vehicle was taken by ambulance to Hennepin Healthcare Hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the female driver of the Escalade is hospitalized with injuries thought to be non-life-threat
