WAPELLO, Iowa (KWQC) - As harvest continues across Iowa, farmers in Louisa County were treated to a free hot meal on Tuesday afternoon as a show of appreciation for their hard work.
Practical Farmers of Iowa and ADM partnered with Cynful Smokehouse and Creamery to provide free, hot meals to farmers and anyone helping with harvest. The effort aimed to ease the demands of the season and show appreciation for those working long hours to feed others.
“They’re out working hard, long days — maybe not eating as much as they should,” said Elizabeth Schnicker, senior field crops outreach coordinator with Practical Farmers of Iowa. “
