WASHINGTON — A disturbing group chat filled with racist, antisemitic and violent messages involving young Republican leaders from across the country has come to light, according to a Politico report that uncovered thousands of offensive posts in a private Telegram channel.
The group chat reportedly included leaders from state chapters of the Young Republicans in New York, Kansas, Arizona and Vermont, Politico reported. Messages in the chat included repeated use of slurs, such as the n-word, the r-word and homophobic f-slurs, which appeared more than 251 times, as well as jokes about sexual assault and the Holocaust.
Peter Giunta, who at the time was chair of the New York State Young Republicans, was identified by Politico as one of the most prominent voices in the chat spreading racist c
