MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WSMV) - Director David Rausch with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation attended a press conference Tuesday morning at the Memphis Safe Task Force operations center and spoke alongside Governor Bill Lee and Mayor Paul Young.
Rausch said they identified 137 missing children when the task force operations started in late September. A little over three weeks later, Rausch said the task force has located 44 missing children who were returned home safely.
Rausch clarified that they actually located 45 children, but the last one was actively being reported as missing when they were found during a traffic stop.
