Alberta Health Services has laid off 100 people, while eliminating 300 vacant positions.
The health agency confirmed the news Tuesday, saying the job losses mostly impact positions in corporate services, but also include but are not limited to IT, finance, human resources and community engagement and communications.
AHS says the job losses do not impact already filled positions in frontline clinical areas, and that no direct impacts are expected to the area.
The layoffs represent 0.4 per cent of the total AHS workforce, the agency says.
