Alberta Health Services (AHS) had confirmed that they have laid off around 100 employees and eliminated roughly 300 vacant positions.

The focus of the 400 cut jobs is on the corporate side of the service, in divisions such as IT, finance and human resources.

AHS said that the cuts make up about 0.4 per cent of its total workforce. They also stated that there are no cuts to front-line roles, with no direct impact on patient care.
