**Title: Police Investigate Shooting at Centretown Rooming House**
Ottawa police are investigating a shooting that left a man with gunshot wounds at a rooming house in Centretown early Wednesday morning. The incident occurred around 1:34 a.m. at a residence located on Somerset Street West, just west of Bay Street.
Paramedics arrived on the scene and stabilized the man before transporting him to the hospital. He is currently in critical condition, according to Marc-Antoine Deschamps, a public information officer with the Ottawa Paramedic Service.
In the aftermath of the shooting, police cordoned off the area, and multiple officers were seen entering and exiting the residence throughout the morning. When approached for details, a police officer at the scene declined to comment on the specifics of the incident.
Maeghan McGaraughty, also with the Ottawa Police Service, confirmed that the investigation is ongoing but did not provide additional information. As of now, no suspects are in custody.
