India has been chosen to stage the landmark 2030 Commonwealth Games- marking the event’s 100th anniversary. Ahmedabad, home to the world’s largest cricket stadium, edged past Nigeria’s Abuja as the preferred host, as confirmed by Commonwealth Sport's evaluation commission.
The official ratification is expected at the Commonwealth Sport General Assembly in Glasgow on November 26. Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, boasting a 132,000 crowd capacity and a proven global event track record, will headline the sporting spectacle.
The 2030 Games will be India’s second time hosting after Delhi 2010.
