HORRY COUNTY, S.C. —

A jewelry store owner in South Carolina was arrested after staying open after his business license was revoked, according to an arrest warrant.

The South Carolina Department of Revenue said Zachary Travis McCutcheon, 26, of Surfside Beach, operated Sky Jewelers in Murrells Inlet.

According to an arrest warrant, the retail license for the business was revoked on June 12, 2025 due to unpaid taxes.

However, Mccutcheon continued operating the business without a retail license.

If convicted, Mccutcheon faces a maximum sentence of 30 days in jail and/or a $200 fine.

He is being held in the J. Reuben Long Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
