The Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre (SSMIC) has received $1.7 million from FedNor to help SMEs adapt and compete in the new market conditions.

Sault-Algoma MP Terry Sheehan announced the funding Wednesday at Insightworks, a Sault Ste. Marie high-tech, digital solutions company that got its start through SSMIC more than a decade ago.

Most of the funding, $953,000, will be used to support the SSMIC’s Innovation Acceleration Program. The program provides training and contributions to regional businesses for digital advancement and technology adoption.
