Vanessa Pevec and John Allan knew each other years before learning her Mitton Street home in Sarnia, and his family had a connection.
Pevec and her husband Matt Pevec have lived for 30 years in the house without knowing, until recently, it previously was home to the family of Allan’s two great uncles who died fighting in the First World War.
That connection surfaced because of the Sarnia’s War Fallen: Where They Called Home project that last year began setting out lawn signs in the lead up to Remembrance Day connecting Sarnia residents who died fighting with the homes in Sarnia they left to serve overseas.
