Superintendent Colleen Burns Jermain , who has led Newport Public Schools for over a decade, announced plans to leave her role in 2026.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the students and families of Newport,” Jermain wrote in a letter to Newport School Committee about her impending departure. “I am grateful and appreciative for the wonderful community partnerships that have grown for our children, the generosity of so many that support us through first of its kind learning experiences and the community support for our new Pell building edition and Rogers High School.”
