SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Saratoga Springs Traffic Department has reportedly started installing new signage to reflect the city's recently reduced speed limit. Authorities ask drivers to be on the lookout for the changes.

In August, the Saratoga Springs City Council approved a proposal to change the city speed limit from 30 mph to 25 mph. According to officials, the move came as part of an effort to improve pedestrian and driver safety.

"The lowering of the speed limit makes our city safer and reduces potential fatalities," Saratoga Springs Public Safety Commissioner Tim Coll told NEWS10 in March, when the city was first exploring the change.
