The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings were released last week, and the University of Calgary made it into the top 200.

With over 2,000 universities included in the ranking, the THE ranking assesses research-intensive universities across 18 performance indicators, which are divided into five pillars, covering their core missions of teaching, research, knowledge transfer and internationalization.

The University of Calgary ranked 200th in the world and ninth in Canada, with an overall score of 58.7, up from its position between 201st and 250th last year.

The University of Toronto is ranked 21st globally and the top university in Canada, followed by McGill University at 41st, and the University of British Columbia taking 45th place.
