Former St. Albert resident Aren Byelot Pearson, 41, has been sentenced in a Scottish court to life in prison for the Feb. 11, 2024, Shetland Islands murder of his Edmonton girlfriend, Claire Leveque, 24.

Glasgow High Court Judge Lord Paul Arthurson on Wednesday sentenced Aren Pearson to life imprisonment.
