CLEVELAND —

A United States Marshal was shot and seriously injured early Wednesday morning while serving an arrest warrant near Cleveland, Ohio.

The shooting happened near East 92nd Street and Hillock Avenue, while the U.S. Marshals Service’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force was serving a warrant. Advertisement

According to WKYC in Cleveland, the suspect was wanted in connection with two shootings in East Cleveland.

Officials said the deputy was shot in the arm and taken to the hospital. He is expected to survive.

The suspect has been taken into custody after the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office brought in a SWAT team.
