CLEVELAND, Ohio — A deputy U.S. marshal was shot Wednesday while serving an arrest warrant in the city’s Glenville neighborhood, officials said.
A Cuyahoga County Sheriff SWAT team arrested the suspected shooter after he barricaded himself inside an apartment building, officials said. His identity has not yet been released and formal charges have not yet been filed.
The deputy marshal was shot in the arm and is expected to recover, U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said. Officers fired shots at the suspect, but did not wound him. The deputy marshal’s identity has also not yet been released.
“He’s a warrior,” Elliott said. “He is a tough individual. He’s going to survive.”
The shooting happened about 8 a.m. at an apartment building on East 91st Street and Stewart Avenue, north of St. Clair Aven
