PORT ARTHUR, Texas — A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed against Motiva Enterprises following the death of a Newtron contract worker in Port Arthur.

Hayden Christopher, 32, of Buna, was killed Monday in an incident at the complex. The lawsuit, filed in Jefferson County District Court, seeks damages on behalf of Christopher's widow, Miranda Christopher, and their son.

Attorney Brent Coon, a petrochemical industry legal specialist, filed the suit and secured a restraining order barring Motiva from disturbing evidence related to the incident. The order prevents the company from altering equipment or the work area until independent inspections are completed.
