A penthouse apartment in Wortley Village broke the record for the most expensive condo sold in London’s history, despite selling below its original asking price.
Initially listed for $2.6 million, the unit at 122 Wortley Rd. sold for $2.25 million after being on the market for little more than a month.
“We were never sure whether we would even get close to that ($2.6 million), but that was our starting point,” said Peter Jones, who built the three-storey, seven-unit condominium building where the penthouse is located alongside his life partner Brian Baillargeon.
“We’re quite content with what we got.”
Jones said the property attracted four potential buyers, two of whom he described as “intensely interested” in purchasing it.
