A Slidell man convicted in August of ambushing his estranged wife in 2022 and shooting her four times was sentenced Wednesday to 57 years in prison, northshore District Attorney Collin Sims said in a news release.
Calvin U. Brown, 47, was found guilty on Aug. 21 following a four-day trial before 23rd Judicial District Court Judge Judge Richard Swartz of attempted second degree murder, attempted simple burglary and stalking.
Brown shot his estranged wife four times while she sat in her vehicle on a Slidell street in February 2022. The couple's 7-year-old son witnessed the attack.
