HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A news conference Wednesday morning at the state Capitol acknowledged Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.
The day aims to raise awareness about the emotional and psychological challenges faced by many who have experienced pregnancy and infant loss and to promote support.
"There's a lot of women that navigate really hard times and I think it's great that we're here to show that," a supporter at the event said. "Even if you're in a tough time, we'll support you, and your community will show up and support you too."
It's estimated that one in four pregnancies end in loss due to miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death.
