SHOREWOOD, Minn. — Police are investigating after a body was discovered in the water near a burned dock on Lake Minnetonka Tuesday afternoon.

According to a search warrant filed by South Lake Minnetonka Police, officers were called to a property at an address on Enchanted Point on Lake Minnetonka around 1:52 p.m. on reports of a boathouse fire. A caller told authorities they saw a dead body in the water and that the body appeared to be badly burned.

Responding officers confirmed the grisly scene, finding a smoldering dock and a deceased individual in the water. “Upon my arrival, I observed the body to be badly burned. The person was obviously deceased,” a police detective said in the search warrant. Police also noted the body appeared to have a fractured leg.
