UTICA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- In the trial of three former correction officers, David Kingsley, Matthew Galliher and Nicholas Kieffer, defense attorneys argued that their clients played minor roles, if any, in the death of inmate Robert Brooks.
Prosecutor Bill Fitzpatrick painted a very different picture, alleging the officers acted as part of a violent "gang" that showed no care for Brooks' life.
The jury began deliberating, but was dismissed for the day after 20 minutes. Deliberations were scheduled to continue the next morning.
