GRAYSON, Ky. (WSAZ) - The Central Midwest Regional Council of Carpenters is hosting a two-day open house at their site in Grayson.
Students were able to visit various stations and learn different aspects of becoming a carpenter, millwright, pile driver, or floor coverer.
Clinton Young is a training coordinator.
“We have roughly 1,400 people supposed to come through,” Young said. “This is going to be high school-aged students coming through to look at their career paths or possibilities and see if this is something they want to do.”
Young said the traditional college path isn’t for everyone, and this event gave students a chance to learn about other options.
