SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Varsity Football Head Coach for the Windber Area School District will be resigning from his role following an investigation into an alleged hazing incident with some of the team's players.

The school district announced Wednesday in a statement that Coach Matt Grohal decided to leave his position at the end of the 2025-2026 football season. This came as the district said it concluded its internal investigation into the hazing incident, which was reported to have taken place in the school's weight room.

The district determined the head coach was not at fault for the incident and added that procedures were being enhanced to "strengthen supervision in athletic areas." It was also noted that no coach received a notice or complaint from any student-athletes be
